Oakdale Forest is a forest in western Massachusetts in Roger Landry's novel The Other Side.
In 1981, a hawk named Winston called a forest meeting at the clearing, but he attacked many of the smaller animals with a few other hawks, foxes and coyotes. Rocky the squirrel held a small meeting in his tree, where he revealed that he was planning on capturing Winston. He caught Winston in a net the next day, brought him back to his tree, and interrogated him about the meeting.
In the spring of 2015, humans began cutting down trees at the edge of the forest.
